Understand the types of claims

Not At Fault

This is when the other driver hit your car and it is their fault.

Generally what happens is you need to get a claim number from the party at fault – which is provided by the other drivers insurance company.

Then we will contact your insurance company and supply them with the details you provide us. Once the liability has been accepted, we can then submit a quote and begin repairing your car.

At Fault

You may be asked to pay an excess when it is your fault. We will contact your insurance company, you pay the excess and then we will begin works on your car.

You must note that if you are at fault, that your no claims record may be affected. So if the damage is minor and the cost of repair is less than the excess or even a little more than excess it may be a better option to get it privately repaired.

Our specialists will advise you on the best options and recommendations.

What Most People Don’t Know…

Most people think its okay to just get the registration, license and contact details of the people involved in the accident. But if both parties deny their fault or provide different accounts, the time we get an approval to fix the car will be longer.

Also find out whether the drivers are the vehicle owners and, if not, take down the details of the vehicle owner as well. If there are witnesses, make sure to get their testimony and take photos.
